Selena Gomez opens up about her struggle
with the mental health and necessary humiliation of her social circle in a new
interview with Business of Fashion.
The most followed singers and people in
the Instagram world take a three-month break from social media in 2016; He said
that he contacted some of the people he was looking for a guide as he reached
that breakeven point.
"I asked the teachers, coaches,
managers, people I respect [for the way they live their lives I asked them,
'How did you get to this place? What do you look like when you were 25? are you
thinking? 'And that's where, along with like-minded people, you are who you
surround yourself - 100 percent,' he said of the important steps he took to
self-care.
"If you're around people who think
it's stupid, that's ridiculous - 'You're crazy! You're fine!' - But you do not
feel that way, maybe it's time to re-evaluate it, "he continued.
"It's a lonely trip to really know where all this stuff comes from, and to
let go of it, it becomes an addiction, becomes a habit, retrain your mind not
to go to these negative places when you say something wrong, do Something is
wrong, when you wear certain things or represent a particular culture, but it's
lonely, I have to lose a lot of people in my life to get there. "
Following his three-month social media
break, the "Fetish" singer gave an emotional speech at the American
Music Awards in 2016 after he returned home to grab the favorite Pop / Rock
Women Artist, where he finally voted the reason he had to get out of the
spotlight.
"I think it's safe to say that most
of you know a lot about my life, whether I like it or not, I have to stop,
because I have everything and I'm really broken in " he said at the time.
"I'm not trying to get validation, nor do I need it anymore, but if you're
broken, you do not have to keep it broken, and whether you respect me or not,
that's one thing you should know about me, do I care about people."
Even now, with 126 million Instagram
followers, Gomez explains that he still often feels isolated in his fame.
"You have to find out the people in
your circles," he told Fashion Business. "I feel like I know everyone
but have no friends, I have three good friends I can tell, but I know everybody
I go anywhere and I like, 'Hey guys, how are you?' And it feels good to connect
with other people, but having a very important limit, you have to have a few
people who respect you, want the best for you and you want the best for them.Sounds
very cheap, but hard."
Added social media maven fans of
Millennial and Gen Z today: "I see the disconnect from real life
connections to people, and it makes me a bit worried.I think social media is a
wonderful way to stay connected, to learn more things about what's happening
outside your little bubble, but sometimes I think it's too much
information." (Source : www.rollingstone.com)
